Decolonized Wisdom Bearers
The embodied depth of the global majority has always been here. Indigenous, Black, and Asian practitioners carrying ancestral wisdom and lived experience in their bones — a knowing that feels astrology from the inside out, rooted in the web of collective being, healing from oppressive and extractive practices, ethical engagement and reciprocation in care. I also look to queer and gender-nonconforming folks whose perspectives often look far beyond the patriarchal lens to a broader, open vista of understanding. Here are some folks I highly recommend and am grateful to learn from:
DIANA ROSE HARPER (she/her)
Her relational astrology blows my mind every time. I could listen to her analogies and insights on Patreon all day. ddamascenaa.com

ALI A. OLOMI (he/him)
Writer, historian and podcaster with eye-opening perspective that illuminates Muslim and Islamic cosmology. Go to his Head on History Patreon page for posts such as, “The Astrology of Palestine” and “A Decolonial History of Astrology” (series that “recover[s] the silenced voices of African astrologers, women astrologers, and LGBTQ+ astrologers”).

ALICE SPARKLY KAT / ACE (they/them)
My first foray into learning about decolonized astrology with Alice Sparkly Kat's book: Post-colonial Astrology: Reading the Planets through Capital, Power, and Labor.

SAKI SAVAVI (she/her)
When Savi speaks of maps and expresses through film, there is nothing but paying attention and feeling the truth of indigenous ancestral wisdom living with and in the earth's energetic body. Filmmaker, mapmaker, energy worker.

CAMERON ALLEN (he/him)
Evolutionary astrologer and herbalist. My go-to for holistic medical astrology.
